Certainly, the pre-barbie days were filled with afternoons when\u00a0girls (and boys too) grow up swapping and dolling up these 2D cutouts.<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s the craft for the week&#8230;.a throwback to the good old days and letting Pinkxi have a go at fashion design or perhaps even a kind of rapid prototyping for bigger things to come (pre-photoshop\/illustrator exercise). BBM thinks it should while away a couple of hours in the afternoon if you are looking for something to occupy your holidaying lil one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you need are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>glue<\/li>\n<li>scissors\/cutters<\/li>\n<li>thin cardboard (great to recycle those cornflake boxes)<\/li>\n<li>pencils\/crayons\/markers<\/li>\n<li>commercial catalogues\/magazines<\/li>\n<li>an existing dress up doll (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/c4.staticflickr.com\/4\/3854\/18659951328_10639266d1_z.jpg\" alt=\"Paper dolls\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Trace the\u00a0dress up doll on the cardboard and then cut it out. This will be Model Zero, from which you will duplicate more models and create templates for dresses. It&#8217;s ok to also draw out your own figure (can be a boy, monster, alien etc etc) if you do not have an existing doll to start with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/c4.staticflickr.com\/4\/3706\/18227074893_708e23046c_z.jpg\" alt=\"Paper dolls\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Pencil\/colour in the models.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/c2.staticflickr.com\/6\/5470\/18660018830_88b38a9584_z.jpg\" alt=\"Paper dolls\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure to draw in at least 4 folding tabs on the dresses cutouts.
