7 Blind Mice and an Elephant
Kiddo loves this book so BigBrownMonster worked out a more tactile way of telling this story by Ed Young.
Kiddo drew up a pond across the paper (she’s into drawing somewhat concentric circles these days) and placed a cutout of an elephant in the centre of the paper (ok the story had the elephant by the pond but oh well….)
Then the mice are made out of colour construction paper. She helped to scribble and ink in the features.
Kiddo can position the mice at the different parts of the elephant as the story progresses. Ask kiddo where the mice were and what they thought they found, once kiddo’s more familiar get him/her to retell parts of the story with the mice.
